I am new to TradeSports - how do I get started?

First you should decide if you prefer our Trading Screen or our Betting Screen. These offer the same contracts and prices but display the information in different formats. Traders may find the Trading Screen more intuitive, while customers of Sports Books may be more at home with the Betting Screen.
You may want to view our Trading Demo (available to the upper left of the Home Page).
The next step is to deposit funds and you are ready to trade!

How do I deposit funds into my account?
  TradeSports accepts deposits by:
  • MasterCard and Visa (clears instantly once account has been verified)
  • FirePay (clears within 7 days)
  • Bank Transfer (clears within 1-2 business days)
  • Check/Money Order (clears within 10 days of receipt for unverified accounts, clears upon receipt for verified accounts)

There are no fees for deposits. When sending a check/money order for $500 or more, ask for our FedEx number to send it express at our expense. For details on how to make these payments please see the Deposit section in My Account.

What is a Trading Credit?
TradeSports bonuses are awarded as Trading Credits. A Trading Credit adds to your available balance and may be used to fund trades. A Trading Credit may not be withdrawn as cash. Any profit or loss arising from using the Trading Credit will be added to or debited from your cash balance.

Once you have paid fees equal to the Trading Credit, you may request to have the Trading Credit converted to your cash balance.

I just want to make a bet - what do I do?
In this case you may want to go to our Betting Screen. This displays the bets in a format familiar to Sports Book users. On the Betting Screen you can view moneyline or digital odds and choose the amount of money you want to bet. The Betting Screen has a seperate Help section to get you started.
I think an outcome isn't going to happen, but you don't have the opposite result, what do I do?
That's the beauty of TradeSports, to bet against an outcome you simply sell the contract.
But I don't own any contracts, how can I sell something I don't own?

TradeSports is modeled on a futures exchange. On Tradesports when you sell a contract you're actually entering into an agreement to sell the contract when it expires.

So if you sell at 35 and the contract expires at zero you make 35 points because the contract is worth nothing. However if the contract was worth 100 then you have to pay the difference, in this case 65 points. The value of a point can vary depending on the contract, but for most contracts on TradeSports one point is worth $0.10.

Am I guaranteed the quoted price when I place an order?
TradeSports executes all orders automatically. When your order is entered it competes with others in a queue based on the best price and then the time the order was received by the Exchange. Orders at the same price joining the queue before yours have priority. Therefore we cannot guarantee the price until your order reaches the exchange and is executed at your quoted price or better.

What are the TradeSports fees for deposits or withdrawals on my account?

TradeSports does not charge any fees on deposits.
You are allowed two free withdrawals by check per 30 day period. Subsequent withdrawals in the 30 day period are subject to a $10 administration fee.
Bank transfer withdrawals are subject to a $20 bank fee. The $10 administration fee may also apply to bank transfer withdrawals.
If you request to have your check sent Fed Ex, a Fed Ex fee of $30 will be applied.

What other fees or commission am I charged?
The Exchange charges exchange fees on trades and contract expiries.
See Fees section for more info

I have forgotten my login information
In the case of a forgotten password, click on the Login Help link under the main login area, then select the Forgotten Password option. Enter the information requested and a new password will be emailed to you. In the interest of security, TradeSports employees do not have access to your password but they can assist you with the Login Help section.
If you need to be reminded of your TradeSports account number, please email help@tradesports.com with your name, address, date of birth and (if you remember) the answer to your security question.

Where do I find the Rules for expiring contracts?
The Contract Rules section can be found by clicking on the Rules link at the bottom of every page. This outlines how TradeSports list and expire contracts and includes circumstances such as games being postponed or players withdrawing etc. For Special contracts we may publish additional expiry rules in the Exchange News section (available from the Home Page).

What is the role of TradeSports?
TradeSports is an exchange that facilitates trading by matching orders from its customers. Additionally, TradeSports fulfils a "clearing house" function by implementing margining, administrating payments and maintaining customer accounts. TradeSports ensures that trading profits and losses are transferred between customers in a timely manner and allows customers to close out positions by trading with any other customer. TradeSports does not enter into trades on the exchange.
